Take Manhattan’s famous master baker, Jim Lahey, and pair him with a oven imported from Naples, where a pizza cooks in less than 30 seconds, and you’ll get Co. Pizza, also known as Company. The merging of these components is the main reason why Co’s pizza style has been referred to as Naples meets New York.

How many guest appearances has Lahey made on the Martha Stewart show? What does a blistered pizza taste like? Read on to find out.

A steaming bowl of Vietnamese Pho is one of my favourite dishes of all time. The mix of hot broth, slurpy rice noodles, crunchy bean sprouts, sharp raw scallions and succulent beef is the perfect combination for my taste buds.

Where’s my go-to pho spot? And what’s holding it back from being one of the city’s best? Read on fo’ mo’ pho.

hamburger

Who invented the hamburger? According to Hamburger Heaven, a book about the history of hamburgers, the beefy snack was invented in the late 1800’s in New York City. Sailors based in the port of Hamburg rolled into NYC demanding cooked, seasoned ground-beef patties. American vendors were quick to accommodate, but added a convenient twist of their own in the form of a soft white bun. The snack was coined a “Hamburger” in honour of the men who craved them.

But like so many American traditions, like gunplay and binge gambling, it turns out the Chinese were a couple millennia ahead of the craze. Yes the Chinese Hamburger exists, and it’s been filling the hunger gap since the (insert alloy) age.

Has guest writer Christopher Hutsul demystified the allusive Chinese Hamburger? Read on to find out.

Finding a decent lunch near my workplace is always a conundrum. I need something that’s not too heavy so I won’t be caught snoozing by 3 pm, something that’s not too expensive so I can still afford a dinner out on the weekend, and something that’s definitely scrumptious to help escape the monotony of my workday. I, along with my co-workers, solve this problem by heading to the Ackee Tree (170 Spadina Ave.) for their tantalizingly affordable Jerk Chicken.

Wanna guess how much my portion was, and find out how to get an extra 10% off? Read on for the delicious dealio!

Dinnertime isn’t always about creating the most elegant, refined dishes or using unique ingredients. We so often forget the joys of eating simple meals or, more poetically, simple trailer-trash meals. To me, one of my all-time favorite comfort foods is a creamy, cheesy bowl of Kraft Dinner. That’s right, I said it and I’m not ashamed to admit it. KD is a classic dish that can be put together in under ten minutes while whisking you down memory lane to those times of pulling all-nighters and sleeping on a futon.

Read on for more cheesy news.
