Eating at Olive & Bonacini’s latest venture, O&B Canteen (330 King Street W.) can be a truly blissful experience. Just check out the facial expression of my pal Jason, who’s clearly lost himself in the perfectly scrambled eggs. But there’s much more than traditional breakfast offerings here at the Canteen, including a butty or two.

What the F is a butty? I had no idea either, so read on and we’ll both get to the bottom of this age-old mystery.

If you’re craving more than a massive Popcorn Chicken, here’s everything you need to know about eating in San Diego. I stayed in the Gaslamp District which is fairly touristy and thus harder to find great restaurants. So I did some serious research before heading down (or as I like to call it, pre-production) to find the best places to eat. Thankfully we ended up with several memorable meals, including sushi, Mexican and a good dinner. I already reported on the obscenely massive brunch at local favourite Hash House a Go Go, so here I round up the rest of the best, on a modest budget.

Read on for the places you have to hit up when you’re hungry in the SD.

Is it possible to enjoy a hearty, reasonably priced brunch in Yorkville? Yes, indeed it is thanks to Flo’s Diner (70 Yorkville Ave.). Situated on the upper level with a lovely patio, extensive menu and swift, friendly service, Flo’s is the place to go.

Get an eyeful of Flo’s Big Breakfast plate after the jump. Your stomach better be bigger than your eyes for this one.

As the weather starts to turn into to chilly days and cool nights, the desire for hibernation and nesting sets in. We still need to eat, if not now, more than ever in order to fit into our annual winter fat suits. And fall is the time to start the official season of home culinary gatherings.

This past weekend my roommate Sarah and I invited over three good friends for a lazy Sunday brunch consisting of homemade waffles, spicy bloody marys and four-legged love. Our dear friends, Marcos, Mikee and the fiercely present Rita stopped by to listen to Lyle Lovett, read latin Cosmo, try on fur hats and dig into fresh homemade waffles.

The Breakfast Club isn’t just the name of an ’80s movie, it’s also the name of best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever tried. It’s from Canadian burger institution Harvey’s and believe me, it was go-od! Yes, I said was. You watched them fry an egg over-easy on the griddle, top it with bright-orange processed cheese, add a couple slices of tomato, a piece or two of crispy bacon and pack it all together between a toasted bun. Oh man, it was my morning meal of choice, and it clocked in at an affordable $2.50. Then suddenly, everything changed.

What the hell happened to my beloved Breakfast Club? Read on and prepare yourself for heartbreak.
