With it’s large decaying metal doors and caged windows it’s no wonder I never gave this unassuming restaurant a second look. I’ve walked by Moto, a wedge-shaped, speak-easy style restaurant, for the past year and finally decided to go in. Whoa, was I in for a treat!

I had no idea what was on the other side, but once I was in I was completely blown away.

Thanks to Heidi Klum on Project Runway, we all know how to say good-bye in German (Auf Wiedersehen). If you ever find yourself craving barbecue in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg, it’s important to know another German phrase — Fette Sau (354 Metroplitan Ave.), which translates to “fat pig.”

There’s way more than just fat, juicy pig at this joint. Read on to see my meat-filled tray.

Egg (135 N 5th St), a southern-style restaurant, serves up possibly the most egg-ceptional brunch in the Brooklyn borough. I heard this place was legendary, so when a good friend, Naomi, and I set out Sunday for a retail-therapy mission we knew it would be the perfect place to fuel our bodies. There was some serious credit-card damage to be done and we needed the energy to last the day. How did we gear up for the pending shopping hours ahead? Simple, by ordering the Eggs Rothko ($8.50).

Seriously, Eggs Rothko is like a chicken laid heaven on a plate. Continue to find out why.

An afternoon stroll with girlfriends brought me to La Superior: A tiny no-frills Mexican restaurant located in Williamsburg known for cheap, authentic, street style Mexican food.

After much hype from friends, I was pretty psyched to give it a go. With the help of my waiter, I ordered an assortment of tacos (clockwise from top left): rajas, camarĂ³n al chipolte, and pescado zarandeado. The portions are small (tapas style) which is perfect since it allows you to be adventurous and order a wide variety of flavours. They are abundantly filled and flavourful. However, the heat factor is on the mild side but they more than make up for it with a selection of assorted salsas. I also nibbled on earthy flavoured gorditas, crispy homemade chips and fresh guacamole. Verdict: fun, cheap and oh so tasty!
